Bond Trivia

  • Desmond Llewellyn appeared in 18 Bond films as "Q" starting with From Russia with Love in 1963 and concluding with The World is Not Enough in 1999 in which he passed the torch to John Cleese.  He was in every official Bond film during that span except for Live and Let Die.  He died in 1999 shortly after the release of the film.  No actor has appeared in more Bond films.
  • Samantha Bond played Miss Moneypenny in "Die Another Day" and was the first woman to passionately utter the phrase "Oh James"  since Tanya Roberts in "A View to a Kill". Of course it was a virtual reality version of Bond she was with.
  • Aston Martin vehicles were most featured as official Bond cars.  Lotus and BMW were also featured and a Toyota was used in "You Only Live Twice".
  • Jane Seymour's Motion Picture debut came as a Bond girl in "Live and Let Die"
  • Ursula Andress' Motion Picture debut came as a Bond girl in "Dr. No".
  • The oldest actor to portray James Bond was Roger Moore who was 46 when he debuted as Bond in 1973's "Live and et Die" and he was an ancient 58 years old in his final appearance as Bond in 1985's "A View to a Kill".  Roger Moore is actually 3 years OLDER than Sean Connery.
  • The youngest Bond was George Lazenby who was 30 years old in his debut.
  • The Tallest Bond was Sean Connery at 6' 2-1/2"
  • The shortest Bond is Daniel Craig who is 5' 10"
  • Bernard Lee portrayed "M" in every Bond film from 1962's "Dr. No" to 1979's "Moonraker".  The role of "M" returned in 1983's "Octopussy" with Robert Brown who continued on until 1989's "The Living Daylights".  Judi Dench took over the role for 1995's "Goldeneye" and she remains in that role to this day.

Bond's Submarine Lotus from the Spy Who Loved Me is a Fan Favorite.  Of course the Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger is classic and the BMW 750il remote control was cool too!
